The Uganda Program for Human and Holistic
Development (UPHOLD) is committed to empowering families,
communities and institutions to improve the quality
and use of services in education, health and HIV/AIDS.
UPHOLD accomplishes this through value-added partnerships
and using people-centered approaches for a sustained
client-friendly environment.
UPHOLD is a six-year program (October 2002 to September
2008) funded by the United
States Agency for International Development (USAID) and
supported by the Government of Uganda. The Program
has strengthened capacity in 34 districts for the
improved delivery, planning, management, monitoring
and effective use of social services in three integrated
social sectors: health, education and HIV/AIDS. The
Program's primary beneficiaries are Ugandan men,
women and children.
UPHOLD held its End of Project
Conference 6-7th May, 2008 to celebrate
its achievements and focus on the theme of Making
A Difference in the Lives of Ugandans: Delivering
Social Services Through Partnership.
